Welcome to Mrs. Sansoucy's Grade 3 News

Please be sure to check our class web page each week for important information and classroom updates. On Mondays I will post a list of the upcoming tests for the week. The Grade 3 web page is a great way for parents and students to keep up on events and projects that we've completed, as well as, keep track of what assignments we are currently working on in class.
Test and Project Schedule for the week of May 14th - May 18th
- Thursday, May 17 - English Test on Adverbs
- Friday, May 18 - Spelling Test
A Special Thank You!
A special "Thank You" to all who helped support the children in earning money to donate to "Be Like Brit". The class worked exceptionally hard to raise $235.00 towards this very worthy cause. I am so very proud of all the students who so willingly donated the money they earned to help build this orphanage. What a wonderful lesson - each person, no matter how young, can truly make a difference!
State Reports
The end of the year state reports for social studies are now under way! The students have chosen their states and should now begin doing their research. We will be working on the state of Massachusetts together in class over the next 3-4 weeks. This will give each student an opportunity to see first hand how I expect them to work on their report. The students will be allowed to work during their library time over the next few weeks to look up information about their individual state using reference books. I will be sending home the directions about the project and the "forms" to be completed during the week of April 23rd. If you or your child have any questions, please do not hesitiate to ask. Everyone is really excited! This is a wonderful way for the children to learn about the great country they live in! Projects will be due in class on Wednesday, May 30th.
The Apostle's Creed
We have been studying in religion this year what it means to believe in "one, holy, catholic, Apostolic" Church. Since this is the theme of the Grade 3 religion cirriculum, the students are required to learn the Apostle's Creed as a testament to their faith. Please help your child practice this pray at home. I have asked them to recite it me sometime before the last week of school. This will count as a test grade in religion for the 4th quarter. The Apostle's Creed is the foundation of the Catholic religion. It is important that each child know this important prayer.
